AI, IP and Protection Disclaimer
In short
- One Poesis gives guidance and helps you prepare. It is not legal advice and it does not decide who owns anything.
- Pyli and AIP can be wrong. Check important decisions, especially before you file or rely on a name.
- Our research checks the sources we can reach. It is not an official search of any IP register, and a clear result does not mean a name or idea is free to use.
- An Authorship certificate and related integrity records show that a specific file was in your One Poesis account at a specific time. They do not prove you are the author or that you own enforceable rights.
- Only a government office can grant rights that require government action. Using One Poesis does not grant those rights by itself.
This summary helps you find your way. The full text below is what applies.
1. Why this page exists
Creators trust One Poesis with valuable work. This page sets out plainly what our tools do, where their limits are, and what stays your decision. It forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. Guidance, not legal advice
One Poesis is not a law firm. Nothing in One Poesis, including recommendations, explanations, readiness checks, strategies or drafts, is legal advice or creates a lawyer and client relationship. One Poesis does not decide who owns a work or whether a use is allowed.
For decisions with real consequences, such as filing, responding to an office, licensing, or dealing with a dispute, speak to a qualified IP professional. Where an independent licensed professional is engaged on your application, their advice comes from them, not from One Poesis.
3. Pyli, AIP and the limits of AI
Pyli is the AI guide you talk to in One Poesis. AIP is the analysis layer behind One Poesis recommendations and research. Both use third-party AI models, as explained in the Privacy Notice.
AI output can be incomplete, out of date, inconsistent or simply wrong, and it can sound more confident than it should. We design One Poesis to show uncertainty, to avoid words like "approved", "cleared" or "guaranteed", and to keep a person in the loop before anything is filed. Even so:
- review anything AI drafts before you use or submit it;
- do not treat a recommendation as a finding that something is protectable, available or safe to use;
- verify facts that matter, such as deadlines, fees, classes and legal requirements, with the official source or a professional.
AI never submits anything on its own. An application only goes to an office after it is prepared, reviewed, approved by you and authorised in the Authorize One Poesis step.
4. Research, availability and similarity checks
When One Poesis researches a name or idea, it looks at the sources it can reach, such as domain registries, public websites and search results. It does not currently search the official registers of IPOPHL or WIPO directly, and no search can find every earlier right, unregistered use or pending application.
Results are shown as Our Recommendation, a view of the risk based on what we found. They are not a clearance opinion. A result that finds nothing similar does not mean a name is available, free of conflict or certain to succeed at an office, and a result that finds something similar does not mean you cannot proceed.
5. Authorship certificates and integrity records
When you create or claim an Authorship record, your browser may calculate a digital fingerprint of the file (a SHA-256 hash) and One Poesis stores it with the time our servers recorded it. If the work has no file, we record details of the entry instead. Poesis X can show an integrity hash and a verification page according to what the product makes available.
An Authorship or integrity record can help show that a file with exactly that fingerprint was in your One Poesis account at that time. Keep the original file unchanged: any edit, even re-saving, produces a different fingerprint.
An Authorship or integrity record cannot, on its own:
- prove that you are the author, or that the work is original;
- prove that you created something before anyone else, or give you priority over another person's filing;
- establish that you own enforceable rights, or replace a government process where that process is required;
- guarantee how a court, office or other party will treat it in a dispute.
The time is recorded by One Poesis, not by an independent timestamping authority or a blockchain. Whether a record is accepted as evidence, and how much weight it carries, is for the court or office deciding the matter.
6. Claim Records, reports and Poesis Pro materials
Claim Records, portfolio reports, application preparation packs and similar documents are private records prepared by One Poesis from the information you give us. They help you organise your work and prepare applications. They are not official certificates and are not issued by any intellectual property office. Buying Poesis+ or Poesis Pro does not guarantee legal ownership, a government decision, licensing revenue or a distributorship.
7. How government decisions really work
Rights such as trademarks, patents, utility models and industrial designs are granted by a government office after its own examination. In the Philippines this is the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), and each kind of right has its own procedure, fees and requirements. Using One Poesis does not grant those rights by itself.
Copyright arises when an original work is created and fixed. Formalities such as deposit can help as evidence where the law provides for them, but they are not what creates the right. A bare idea is not protected by copyright.
Some valuable things are better kept confidential than filed, such as methods, recipes or business know-how. One Poesis may suggest that route, but keeping something secret depends on how you manage access to it.
One Poesis is not affiliated with IPOPHL or any other office. Status updates are checked by our team against office records and are not a live connection to any government system. The office's own records are the official source.
8. Your decisions
You decide what to protect, how, and whether to file. One Poesis will explain options, show what it is unsure about, and tell you what happens next, but the choice and its consequences are yours. If something looks wrong, contact [email protected] before you rely on it.
